..........We feel that the portrait of a child must be more then simply a good smile; it must be a forever image
of who they are, illustrating their unique and personal character. When Jennifer or I photograph a child,
weI strive to capture all the sides of their personality because the quirky expressions they create last for
such a very brief period of their life and then they are discarded as quickly as the clothing they outgrow.
To add to that, for us the essence of a great portrait is when we capture the special spark that makes a
child magical. This spark or energy or magic is in their eyes and because of this they don't necessarily
have to be smiling in their portraits, but that spark needs to be showing and we love when its there
because it shows we connected with the child and helped bring it forth.
