The most common statements we hear from adults are….“I don’t take good photos.”, “I hate taking photos.”, “I always look terrible in photos.”, etc. Jennifer and I believe this mind set was given to all of us way back in grade school. Remember how much you dreaded seeing those picture packets being handed out. We always knew the picture was going to be terrible…and we usually weren’t wrong either.
Why? Why were they so terrible…its simple…we were being photographed by a person who didn't have the time or maybe even the desire to capture the character and beauty inside of us. They weren't even attempting to create a portrait of who we were…they were simply taking our picture. A picture which rarely resembled us or even the way our parents saw us. Leading us to believe “I don’t take good pictures, I look terrible in pictures and I need to avoid cameras.” this is a mindset which has continued into our adult lives.
